The Chinese community in Birmingham will soon be moving on from the Year of the Horse and welcoming in the Year of the Goat.
So what can Birmingham expect?
The animals in the Chinese zodiac are associated with certain traits that apply to people – meaning those born in the Year of the Goat now have chance to shine.
And it looks like it will be Birmingham’s chance to shine too.
Birmingham’s Chinese New Year celebrations will, however, be the same as in all other years. They don’t vary according to the annual sign of the zodiac that’s being celebrated.
You can find out here what’s going on for the Chinese New Year festivities in Birmingham for 2015 – and why it’s likely to be the last year the event is free of charge.
For the city, though, there’s plenty coming up this year that makes this Year of the Goat very different and extremely significant.
